The rebuilding of 75 academy schools is likely to be scaled back as Education Secretary, Michael Gove, plans to further review the projects, a month after the scrapping of England’s school rebuilding scheme

The 75 academies will have to undergo the Comprehensive Spending Review in October before they are aware of the funding they will receive.
Education Secretary, Michael Gove, has said that he understands how hard councils and schools have worked on these projects:
“I have been anxious to ensure we can do everything we can, in difficult economic times, to support the crucial work of raising educational standards.
“Planning for these projects are well advanced and we are keen they should proceed without further delay.”
Despite 800 rebuilding projects being cancelled, 33 schools and 44 academy projects will proceed as planned.
