A survey commisioned by the National Grammar Schools Association (NGSA) has shown that 76% of adults voters support the building of new grammar schools

Grammar schools remain popular with parents despite a lack of support for them by the Labour and Conservative party with Head of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, insisting that selective education is unpopular with parents:
"[They] don’t want children divided into successes and failures at 11."
There are currently 164 grammar schools in England, some of which are now facing the threat of closure.
Former chief inspector for schools, Chris Woodhead, sees grammar schools as crucial to social mobility, putting pressure on the Government to support grammar schools.
Chariman of the NGSA, Robert McCartney, claims the results speak for themselves:
"If they want our votes, they should give us what the public wants."
