Launch of independent school home exchange club

November sees the launch of Homes-Club International, the first home exchange club to link parents, alumni, staff and governors of independent schools around the world.

Homes-Club hero

Homes-Club is offering people the chance to exchange their family or holiday homes on a private-member network, helping to cut the costs of holidays.  By joining Homes-Club, members stand to save hundreds, often thousands, of pounds on summer and winter holidays and even on short or longer breaks.

Although the idea of exchanging homes is not new – adventurous people have been doing it successfully for years - what makes the Homes-Club offer different, is that access to the Club is via a password protected website with membership drawn from those connected with independent and international schools worldwide.  Like-minded members therefore immediately have something in common which adds to all-round confidence.

Talking about the launch Homes-Club Managing Director, Dianne Stewart, said: “Exchanging your home or holiday home rather than staying in expensive hotels or apartments around the world makes enormous sense, especially in today’s tougher economic times.  After all, why pay when you can stay for free?” she asked.   “Even for families not too concerned about recession, home exchange is a smart way to see more of the world for less.  It offers an unmatched opportunity to live ‘at home’ elsewhere, experiencing life as a local and taking advantage of the many recommendations and introductions available via fellow Club members.”

The unique service also offers a new opportunity to independent schools which receive donations towards fundraising programmes as members of their school communities join the Club. Longer term, the aim is to develop the growing network to set up language, cultural and sporting exchanges.

Homes-Club launches on 24 November when members can join and add to the initial directory of exchange homes.  This will develop over time as word spreads via schools and through parent and alumni networks.  Those joining as launch members during November and December 2009 will benefit from an introductory membership fee.
