Talented young musicians at Kingswood school in Bath have recently recorded two Beatles' tracks for Children in Need with some of the most legendary rock musicians in the world
The group pupils were chosen to work on the album entitled Bandaged Together and impressed the organisers so much that they were invited to take part in filming the music video for All You Need Is Love at world-famous Abbey Road studios.
Student Michael Kenney described the experience as ‘once in a lifetime’, “to actually be inside the studio recording your music was just fantastic.”
The 60-strong orchestra and singers share the limelight with some of the biggest names in the music business including Corsham-based Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, Brian May from Queen, Hugh Cornwell from the Stranglers, Box-based musician Peter Gabriel, former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and Bryan Ferry.
Laura Cross, leader of the orchestra said that it was like a dream come true, “It was exciting enough to perform at Abbey Road, but to see the professional end product is just amazing!”
